Two people were injured in an exchange of gunfire Tuesday morning

St. Joseph Charter Township Police were called to a home on Hoover Avenue Thursday morning for reports of shots fired.

According to investigators, an argument had taken place between several people that turned into a domestic dispute.

One person was shot in the leg and taken to a local hospital.

The individual who was treated and released from medical care was taken to the Berrien County Jail on preliminary charges of assault to commit great bodily harm less than murder.

All others involved in the incident have been interviewed and released pending a review by the Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office.
