Sunny, hot forecast for Independence Day 2021

(Maci Tetrick/ABC 57 Meteorologist) We have a beautiful, warm summer day in store for celebrating Independence Day with dry conditions for watching fireworks.

It will feel hot for Sunday with a high near 90, but the heat index will actually be in the mid 90s.

The work week will start hot and dry – highs stay near 90 on Monday and Tuesday.

The first chance for showers and thunderstorms arrives Tuesday afternoon, but a better chance for a good soaking on Wednesday along with cooling temperatures.

4th of July: Mostly sunny. Hot and humid. High 90.

Monday: Mostly sunny. Hot. Breezy at times. High 90.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Otherside sunny, with a high near 88.

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.

Friday: A chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84.
