Fire at Niles Inn ruled suspicious

Fire crews were called just before 5:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon about a blaze on the second floor of the structure in the 900 block of 11th street.

It took around 30 minutes to put it out.

Back in April, firefighters fought a blaze on the same property.

Investigators were searching the building for occupants, saying the former hotel has a problem with homelessness and kids getting inside.

The Niles Daily Star reports Mayor Nick Shelton has said the building is set to be demolished this year.
