Deputies in Van Buren County shot and killed a domestic assault suspect who stabbed one of their K9 officers.

It happened at a residence in Gobles Tuesday morning, and officials told WSJM the suspect had several warrants for his arrest.

A search warrant was executed at the home and the K9 handler found the man hiding in a crawl space. The dog was stabbed three times after going in to try and get him out. Deputies say the man was tazed after attacking the dog but still went after the officers, who then shot him.
