The South Shore Line has announced some alcohol restrictions for this weekend as people ride the train to and from Chicago for the Lollapalooza Festival in Grant Park.

Through Sunday, alcohol is NOT permitted on any South Shore trains, and passengers are reminded that glass bottles are always prohibited.

Also, a mask requirement is in effect on the trains through September 21, regardless of vaccination status. Expect crowded conditions and an increased transit police presence during the festival weekend.

The South Shore also says that bikes WILL be permitted on trains through the weekend.
