A request to build a condo complex at the site of former Mulligan’s Bar and Grill has been denied by the city.

A pair of developers from Seattle and Denver recently purchased the site of the former popular bar.

They intended to demolish the building and replace is with a condo complex that would house 27-units on three floors, including a ground floor bar and a rooftop bar.

According to the South Bend Tribune, buildings of that height require a variance from the city’s board of zoning appeals.

On Monday, the board voted 3-2 to turn down the developers plan.
