An off road vehicle crash Sunday evening kills a man and critically injures a woman.

The Van Buren Sheriff’s Office were called to the 76000 block of 33rd Street in Porter Township after 9:00 p.m.

There they located a 41-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman on the ground with a four-wheeler on its side.

Officers say the four-wheeler was traveling on 33rd Street when it left the roadway, hitting a tree, ejecting both the driver and passenger.

The man died at the scene. The woman was conscious but in critical condition, was taken to a hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment.

Police say that both passengers were not wearing helmets.
