A lightning strike destroyed a family business in Steuben County during the storms last week.

It happened Tuesday around 3:30 AM at a car restoration business on Kimble Road. The shop, located in a barn from the 1880s, had been in business for 15 years and had six employees. A lightning strike on the roof started the fire.

The owner, Eric Erman, was able to drag one vehicle out before the business was destroyed. E & R Restorations says they plan to rebuild.
