Elkhart County sees approval for giant warehouse

Elkhart County leaders have taken a big step to land a $200 million dollar distribution warehouse.

Though no name has been announced yet, the Elkhart County Council passed a declaratory resolution for the warehouse that would be located at the Elkhart East Industrial Park.

The warehouse would have a ground floor of around 900,000 square feet.

The Elkhart Truth reports the logistics company is requesting a tax phase-in for the real estate.

The unnamed company would employ 1,000 people and see delivery traffic coming and going throughout the day.

If everything keeps progressing through the county hoops, construction could start in October.
