South Bend Common Council expected to vote on whether to move Police Review Board Director salary

A bill will be voted on Monday, Aug. 23, by the South Bend Common Council — which will mean the director of the city’s police review board will lose his job.

The council has already voted to shift the hiring and firing power for the position to the mayor’s office from the city clerk.

The bill up for consideration tonight would also shift the salary for that position to the mayor’s office.

This would mean that the clerk could not rehire Josh Reynolds for another job in the clerk’s office.

Mayor James Mueller wants Reynolds gone over his past record as a police officer in Indianapolis.
