The 2021 annual report of the Commission on improving the status of children in Indiana was released last week.

The report highlighted the ongoing partnership between all three branches of the states government to safeguard and support Indiana’s children, especially its most vulnerable.

The report laid out the work the commission completed during this past year, along with its various task forces and committees.

During this past year, the group took action on recommendation and created resources based on five core principles:

  1. Equity
  2. Two Generations
  3. Do No Harm
  4. Trauma Informed
  5. Youth and Family Voice

The commission was established back in 2013 to study issues concerning vulnerable youth.

They review and make recommendation concerning legislation and promote best practices and information sharing.
