A LaGrange man was killed when he was hit by a car while walking on the side of a road.

Police were called just after 9:30 a.m., on Thursday, Sep. 16, to 2700 block of South County Road 050 West in LaGrange.

Investigators say John D. Lehman, 82, was walking in the grass along the road when he was hit by a Buick sedan driven by 63-year-old man.

Lehman died at the scene.

The driver who struck Lehman told police he had been working for 18 hours leading up to the crash.

Investigators say the location of the sun could have played a role, too.
