Goshen woman charged for crash that claimed life of 17-year-old boy

A Goshen woman has been charged in connection with a deadly crash near Bristol.

The collision, which happened back in July, resulted in the death of Juan Avalos, 17.

The teen was a passenger in the Chevy Impala, which left the road and struck a tree in the area of County Road 109 and County Road 131.

The driver, Ruby Barcenas Medina, 18, is charged with two counts of causing a death while driving a motor vehicle.

One of the counts accuses her of having a controlled substance in her system and the other, for being intoxicated at the time of the crash.

A warrant for Barcenas’s arrest was issued, with bond set at $150,000, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.
