A man faces intimidation and weapons-related charges after pulling a gun at the Walmart on Ireland Road in South Bend.

It happened on Wednesday, Oct. 13.

ABC 57 News reports police were sent to the store on the report of a male with a gun making threats.

The victim told police he was shopping when the suspect, Phillip Burkes, approached, said “remember me”, pulled the gun, and said he should, “smoke him right here.”

Investigators say officers found Burkes with the gun and arrested him when he tried to leave the store.

Before everyone goes off half cocked on this story demanding more gun control or blaming the gun we need to know if the perp owned the gun legally. Was he carrying with a license. OR was he a felon possessing and carrying a firearm illegally? All besides threatening another person with a deadly weapon.

No it’s not. No modern gun has ever shot someone by itself.

I will bet folding money that the face tattoo had more to do with it than the gun did…
