An 18-year-old Dowagiac man was killed in a one-vehicle crash.

The collision happened just after 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, near Dixon St. east of Indian Lake Road in Silver Creek Township.

On arrival, sheriff’s deputies discovered a Chevy pick-up truck that had struck a tree.

Maynor Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say he was not wearing a seat belt.

Other factors into the crash are still being investigated.
