Two men arrested for unrelated crimes against children in Elkhart

A detective with the Elkhart Police Department-Special Victims Unit arrested two individuals this week for unrelated crimes against children.

Cornelius Owens, Jr, 52 of Elkhart, was arrested on October 18, 2021 by the Elkhart Police Department for Child Molesting, and he was transported to the Elkhart County Correctional Complex.

During the investigation, a 13-year-old named Owens as the father of her child. The Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office has charged him with six counts of Child Molesting, as well as Sexual Misconduct with a Minor.

Christopher B. Myers, 39 of Elkhart, was arrested on October 21, 2021 by the Elkhart Police Department for Child Molesting, and he was transported to the Elkhart County Correctional Complex.

During the investigation, a juvenile victim reported that Myers had forced victim into sexual acts when victim was 5 or 6 years old. The arrest has been submitted to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of formal criminal charges.
