Man killed in shooting on Elwood Avenue in South Bend identified

A man was killed and a woman was hurt in a shooting in South Bend on Thanksgiving Day.

Police were called around 2:40 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 25, to the 2700 block of Elwood Avenue.

The man who died was identified as Saivon Jackson, 21.

The 25-year-old woman was last listed in stable condition in the hospital.

Police called the shooting an “isolated incident” with no ongoing threat to the public.

There was no immediate word of any suspects.
