A 64-year-old Osceola man received facial injuries after colliding with tractor trailer.

The collision happened around 3:20 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, when Elkhart County Sheriff’s deputies say a Three Rivers, Michigan, man driving the tractor trailer stopped, blocking the intersection of County Road 12 and Zimmerle Road, due to an unsecured load.

The Osceola man driving a Ford pickup was not able to see the trailer on the roadway due to low light and struck the trailer.

He was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say the trailer also struck an SUV driven by a 58-year-old Osceola woman. She was not hurt.

The driver of the tractor trailer was cited for not having his load securely fastened.
