City of South Bend wants to buy SBCSC administration building

The City of South Bend is interested in buying the South Bend Community School Corporation administration building.

The district’s Board of School Trustees approved a resolution of intent to sell the administrative building on Monday.

Officials said the sale of the building and moving to a smaller location could open up money for educational improvement.

South Bend Mayor James Mueller says acquiring the building would allow the City of South Bend to merge offices that are currently spread across the downtown area.

Negotiations are underway for the financial considerations associated with the sale of the building.

Government: we need to sell this building and downsize, it is too expensive.

Also Government: look at that huge building that we can buy, regardless of the cost.

Only the South Bend government could make the South Bend Community School Corporation look like they are financially responsible…
