The South Bend Housing Authority has announced a plan for the Monroe Circle complex.

The Authority intends to demolish and rebuild the complex, which has faced a number of structural challenges and claims from tenants that their complaints were being ignored.

ABC 57 News reports that a look at the numbers and a survey of the existing damage has suggested that tearing down and rebuilding the complex is the better option.

The Authority is now in the process of meeting with residents to discuss the future layout of the complexes, which would include the addition of more housing.
