MACOG asking for public input for region disaster recovery and economic plan

Since last April, the Michiana Area Council of Government and the group “Fourth Economy” have been collaborating with economic partners and community leaders to create the region’s first disaster recovery and economic plan.

The plan provides a framework to ensure the economic stays strong to navigate through or withstand future economic disasters.

A draft plan is ready for public review and they want your input to make sure the plan reflects your goals to help advance the region’s economic systems. An online input session is set for Thursday, March 17, from 4:30 till 5:30.

Visit MACOG’s website at https://www.macog.com/docs/economic_devel/MACOG_Resiliency_Plan.pdf to view an electronic version of the draft plan. A printed copy of the plan is also available upon request at MACOG’s office located on the 11th floor of the St. Joseph County County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN.

You may share your input by filling out the online comment form found at https://tinyurl.com/MACOGResiliencyPlanComments, as well as on MACOG’s Recovery and Resiliency webpage, our office, or by posting on MACOG’s Facebook Page @MACOGplan.

Want to avoid economic disaster? Cut social programs and get people working again. End the reliance on Federal money. Stop the government from picking winners and losers in the economy. Get the government red tape out of every aspect of business and life.

Most importantly, realize that the government doesn’t have an economic gas pedal, only a brake. The ONLY people who can get the economy moving are private businesses.
