Red Cross helping displaced tenants after fire at Castle Point Apartments

The Red Cross has been called in to help several people who suffered damage from a fire at Castle Point Apartments in South Bend.

The blaze broke out around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16.

There were no injuries to any residents or firefighters.

There was no word about what caused the fire.

The displaced residents are being housed, nearby, at other empty apartments.

It seems like there have been an awful lot of fires there over the years. This is the 2nd fire this month. It’s enough to make me think that the apartment complex might actually be a public health hazard…
