Registered sex offender in Marshall County taken into custody for failing to update employment records

A registered sex offender in Marshall County has been taken into custody after deputies discovered he had failed to update his employment records.

Casey Whitehurst was convicted on sexual battery charges and has a lifetime registration requirement That means he must report any changes to his address, phone number and employment within 72 hours of the change.

ABC 57 News reports that during a random employment verification check, deputies learned Whitehurst had fired from his job for more than a month and failed to register the change, so a warrant for his arrest was issued.
