St. Joseph, Michigan has a parking problem, and they’re considering seasonal paid parking to help them solve it.

Anyone who has visited the lakeside community in the summer for a special event, or even just a nice day at the beach, knows that parking spots are difficult to find.

St. Joseph City Commissioners and the Downtown Development Authority are working together to work around the years-old problem, and WNDU reports that seasonal paid parking is being considered.

There are worries of pushback from locals looking to shop downtown, and local developer Cornerstone Alliance says they have a plan for a parking garage downtown and more one way streets that could add up to 200 spaces.
