A former lieutenant with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department is charged with three counts of embezzlement.
Trent Babcock was accused of using more than $11,000 from a youth wrestling club that he ran, for his own personal use.
ABC 57 News reports that there were unexplained transactions from 2017 until this year, that had nothing to do with the wrestling club.
Authorities say that Babcock purchased auto parts, fuel, and made cash withdraws.
In court, he said that he was doing nothing wrong and that the funds were private.
The trial date has yet to be set.
