Stroller recall announced due to fingertip danger

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission

A baby stroller is being recalled due to a risk of fingertip amputation.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall Thursday of several products, including the UPPAbaby All-Terrain RIDGE Jogging Stroller. It has rear disc brakes with openings that a non-occupant child’s fingertip can become caught in. This could result in laceration or even amputation of the fingertip while it’s in use.

The strollers were sold at BuyBuyBaby, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Pottery Barn Kids, and other locations nationwide, and online at Amazon, for about $600. They were sold between October of 2021 and August of this year.

One incident of a child losing a fingertip has been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled strollers and contact UPPAbaby to receive free replacement brake discs for both wheels. Click here for more information.
