Richmond officer dies more than a week after being removed from life support

Officer Seara Burton has passed away.

The Richmond police officer died Sunday night, more than one week after having been taken off life support about a week ago.

Philip Lee is charged with shooting her and will likely now face a charge of murder.

Lee’s family say that he had been using meth at the time of the shooting and did not want to go back to jail.

Governor Eric Holcomb issued a statement, saying “hearts are heavy for Burton’s family, colleagues, loved ones and the Richmond community she so nobly served.”

Burton dedicated four years to the Richmond Police Department.

What a shame, I grew up in that town it was a nice place then.. Now drugs are taking over and not a lot of good jobs. Kinda sorry to see small town America having big city problems. RIP
