Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County and Notre Dame School of Architecture seek public input on two potential Mishawaka projects

Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County and the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture are holding their second listening session to gather public input regarding the design and development of new affordable and market rate housing in Mishawaka.

The listening sessions are the first steps in a design study that will explore the feasibility of two potential development sites.

The goal of the design study is to identify and vet housing solutions that meet the critical needs of local residents at a range of price points, household configurations, and life phases – from young people establishing their first household to older residents planning to age-in-place.

The upcoming listening session will take place from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, at Chicory Café, 114 W. 1st St. in Mishawaka.

Since 1987 Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County has helped more than 637 families build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.
