Suspect arrested in connection with Roseland hotel shooting

A man suspected in a shooting at the Quality Inn hotel is Roseland has been arrested.
Dakota Vancamp is charged with misdemeanor unlawful carrying of a handgun and felony unlawful carrying of a handgun prior conviction.
Police were called to the hotel back in early October where they found a man who was shot lying in the hallway. The man who was shot was at the hotel — trying to see his ex-girlfriend who had a protective order against him.
He scuffled with Vancamp who pulled a gun and shot him.
Vancamp was arrested because of the weapons ban due to his criminal past.
The man who was shot, Shaquwan Coalmon is charged with residential entry, domestic battery, invasion of privacy, disorderly contact and domestic battery prior conviction.
