A C.D.C. study reveals 16.5% of Hoosier adults engage in binge drinking, ranking Indiana 21st in the nation.
The state has seen a slight average annual decrease of 0.07% between 2011 and 2023, while Iowa leads the country at 22.5% in 2023.
Health experts point to Midwestern winters and state policies as contributing factors, adding excessive drinking causes roughly 178,000 deaths in the U.S. every year.
