Governor Gretchen Whitmer is asking that flags around Michigan be flown at half-staff on Wednesday.
It’s in memory of the four students killed a year ago at Oxford High School. She’s also asking everyone to observe a moment of silence in their honor.
A 15 year-old student brought a handgun to the school and fatally shot the four students, also injuring six other classmates and a teacher. That teenager pleaded guilty in October to all 24 charges. His parents, who bought the weapon for him as a gift, are still in jail on involuntary manslaughter charges.
