The Indiana Chapter of The Nature Conservancy is responding to Governor Holcomb’s proposed investment in conservation.

State Director Larry Clemens said Holcomb’s proposed $25 million investment to conserve important natural areas across Indiana “makes the state an important partner” in the work to ensure all Hoosiers can enjoy Indiana’s natural beauty.

Clemens called the proposal “the most significant commitment of state funding to land conservation” in 30 years.

In September, The Nature Conservancy received a pair of grants of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds from the state, totaling $1.8 million.
