The South Bend Cubs baseball stadium could see improvements in the future.
A proposal to fund those improvements has been put in front of state lawmakers.
WNDU reports that the lawmakers are being asked to fund up to $100 million over the next 20 years.
They say that $50 million would be set aside for maintenance and the other $50 million would be used for other city owned buildings near the city.

Why are tax dollars funding a private sports facility? That practice needs to stop.
Charles, it’s so easy for government to spend other people’s tax collected money on projects like this. This is the stadium that gives away flat screen TVs and shoots off a lot of fireworks during the year. If you were to take a vote of the people, and by the people, they would vote against funding it.
Absolutely! We once went to war over a 2% tax on tea, but now we sit idly by while potions of paychecks are redistributed to stadium owners.
