Warrants and charges issued for basketball game fight at Washington High School

There are now warrants and charges associated with a big fight earlier this month at a high school basketball game in South Bend.

Five individuals, aged 18 to 20, face criminal charges for the fight that broke out at halftime of the Riley at Washington game on Feb. 2. Officers had to escort those in attendance out of the building and the game was postponed.

A joint investigation between the South Bend Police and the South Bend Community School Corporation has identified the responsible parties. All five face charges of disorderly conduct, with four of them also facing battery charges. Two juveniles were also identified and the prosecutor’s office is working with the St. Joseph County Juvenile Justice Center.

The findings of the investigation, which is ongoing, were discussed with and presented to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office, which filed criminal charges against the following individuals:

Tisean Overstreet (18):
Battery
Disorderly Conduct

Destefano Richardson (20):
Battery
Disorderly Conduct

Isaiah Redding (18):
Battery
Disorderly Conduct

Jamarion Watson (19):
Disorderly Conduct

All the suspects listed above have active warrants for their arrests.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
