An armed robbery suspect was arrested in Steuben County thanks to a tip that led police to his arrest.

Jared Lesher, who was already out of jail on a temporary furlough, is accused of cutting his ankle monitor.

He’d been in jail on charges of armed robbery and intimidation.

Angola police say that someone called Crime Stoppers with a tip about where Lesher was hiding out.

Police went to get him and he was arrested without incident at a home.

He now has additional charges he’s facing for trying to get away from lawful detention.

How could anyone be on temporary furlough after being arrested two violent crimes. Are we becoming like New York where we arrest them then give them a ride home?
