Parents of 3-year-old girl who died in May arrested, charged in girl’s death

The LaPorte County parents of a 3-year-old girl who died after she was pulled from a lake in May 2022 have been arrested and charged in her death.
Police pulled Ivy Allen from the water.
They said the toddler had with non-verbal autism and had wandered away from her home.
After she was reported missing, officers found her unresponsive in Clare Lake not far from her home.
After investigating, Michigan City police charged 35-year-old Andrew Allen and 33-year-old Breanne Smith with neglect of a dependent resulting in death.
They were both taken to the LaPorte County Jail and a bond of $100,000 was set for both of them.
