Illinois resident killed in crash on State Road 19 in Wakarusa

(95.3 MNC)

Excessive speed and rain combined appear to be factors in a crash that claimed the life of an Illinois resident.

That’s the word from Wakarusa Police, who were called around 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 16, to the 66000 block of State Road 19 where they found a Chevy Impala that left the road and struck a pole that heavily damaged the driver’s side door.
The driver, Lejeri L. Ellis-Brackett, 29, of Sauk Village, had to be extricated from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
