Man, woman wounded in shooting on Hiawatha Drive in Elkhart

The Elkhart Police Department is currently investigating after two individuals were found with gunshot wounds in the 800 block of Hiawatha Drive in Elkhart.

Police were called to the area around 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, and found a man and a woman on the porch of a home with apparent gunshot wounds.

First responders rendered first aid and transported both individuals to local hospitals.

At last information, the wounds sustained by the man appeared to be non life-threatening. Initial information indicated that the woman’s injuries also appeared to be non life-threatening.

This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no immediate danger to the public, according to Elkhart Police.
