A speed camera program in construction zones in Indiana will begin on Saturday, July 1.
The Indiana Department of Transportation says there will be cameras in four different construction zones in the state and anyone going eleven-miles-an-hour above the posted speed limit will get a ticket in the mail.
INDOT’s Natalie Garrett says they have seen an increase in recent years in crashes and higher speeds in interstate construction zones.
The first offense will be a warning, the second will be a 75-dollar ticket, and any more will be 150-dollar tickets.

All of these construction projects in the state are ridiculous! Especially on 31 from South Bend to Indy. Eight construction zones in around 100 miles makes it difficult and frustrating getting anywhere. Ive been driving 31 for seven years now. They just keep working on the same areas!
The unblinking all staring eye of government…it’s here to help you (NOT).
This is the camel’s nose in the tent. Coming soon: speed cameras EVERYWHERE, just like the deep blue surveillance state crapholes.
It won’t save any lives, but it brings in lots of revenue…
