Concord Community Schools is considering joining a lawsuit against social media companies.

The superintendent says that social media cause strain on school districts and students.

The Goshen News reports that Indiana is the 49th state in mental health support to students.

The superintendent says that social media causes a strain on mental health for the health counselors. Districts already involved in Indiana are Indianapolis Public Schools, Fort Wayne Community Schools, Elkhart Community Schools, and more.

The lawsuit says that social media has placed an unnecessary burden on school administrators by creating a disruptive school environment. It also says that social media can be an addiction and cause mental health crises.

How is any of this the fault of social media? It’s a product, like anything else. The use of that product is entirely up to the end consumer.

Maybe those school systems need to look within their own walls for the solutions to the problems…

The pandemic and the hybrid classes forced my already socially frail tween at the time to completely leave the highschool learning platform. Social media does distort teens, my daughter lost 20 pounds of wieght when she barely had any wieght to give on her body.
Between the four suicides in the Concord Highschool and losing all of her friends during a pandemic social media is known to target and hurt teens.
