A 20-year-old man has been arrested after an alleged domestic violence incident.

Shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 25, Mishawaka Police were called to University Park Mall.

A 19-year-old victim reported that she was battered and choked by her boyfriend.

The alleged beating occurred in an apartment in the Pin Oak Apartments. The woman was able to leave the apartment on foot. The victim was in the Town & Country Shopping Center parking lot when her boyfriend pulled up in his vehicle and forced her into his car at gunpoint.

He drove her to the parking lot of University Park Mall where he forced her out of the vehicle, again at gunpoint. He then made her kneel and threatened to kill her.

The man then got back in his vehicle and left. He was found at his apartment a short time later and taken into custody.

The victim went to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.
