Broadband availability to be mapped in Cass County

Broadband availability is set to be mapped in Cass County.

Market Van Buren and Cass County teamed up to secure a $100,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to develop a parcel-by-parcel map of broadband availability in the county.

WSJM says DCS Technologies, the company that has done the same in Berrien County and Van Buren County, has been hired to study each property in the county.

The maps will allow Cass County to apply for grants to further roll out access, and once all counties in the region have the maps, regional grants can be sought out.

What a fantastic waste of taxpayers money, when all of the ISPs already have that information and people are migrating in droves to having cellular connectivity only for their internet.
