Israel has announced that it is at war after a Palestinian militant group fired rockets at, and had armed people enter, the country.
Officials say that members of Hamas, a Palestinian militant group with power in the Gaza Strip, took the country by surprise early Saturday. The Palestinian organization has taken credit for thousands of rocket launches.
Second District Congressman Rudy Yakym issued the following statement after Hamas launched terrorist attacks on Israel.
He called the attacks horrifying, heartbreaking, and completely unacceptable and said the closest ally the U.S. has in the Middle East has every right to defend themselves against unprovoked, indiscriminate attacks on innocent Israeli civilians at the hands of Hamas and thaT his prayers are with the people of Israel and for their protection as they fight back against the barbaric, Iranian-backed terrorist attacks.
Hundreds of Israelis have been killed and more than 1-thousnd injured. Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared they are “at war.”
Israel’s military has been responding with its own air strikes and other military actions, and the country’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said the Gaza-based group will “pay an unprecedented price.”
But, one Hamas leader, Mohammad Deif claimed, “This is the day of the greatest battle to end the last occupation on earth.”
This is not the first time that the country has found itself at odds with the territory, as the two have historically disagreed over land ownership and control of the city of Jerusalem.
Leaders from the United Kingdom and other nations have been declaring their support for the country. U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said he is “closely monitoring developments in Israel.”
And, additional Hoosier lawmakers have also made it clear that they support Israel in this effort.
Congressman Jim Banks Tweeted, “We stand with Israel in their fight to defend themselves against radical Islamic terrorism.”
Former Vice President and Indiana Governor Mike Pence also noted, “Every American should condemn the unprovoked and massive attack on Israel by terrorists in Hamas. Our prayers are with…our most cherished ally.”
While videos of the attacks are circulating on social media, few have yet been determined to be legitimate. Hamas has said that it has captured some Israeli soldiers.

Some of the blood is on the hands of the Presbyterian hierarchy and their bogus woke bds policy. A lot more is on the hands of the Democrats and the Biden administration’s clueless foreign policy. How much of the Hamas ordnance came from weapons abandoned by Biden in Afghanistan?
Don’t worry, though, the legacy media will paper it all over.

Drop a nuke on the cowards of Palestine and be done with it.

If these guys all “Stand with Israel,” then scrupulously excise any single US tax dollar that finds its way to the Palestinian Authority. Close the southern border when thousands of military aged men of unknown lineage invade to possibly later coalesce at CAIR or some other skeevy outfit to become more than simply illegal aliens.

The statements are nice but ACTION is what is needed. Get Jim Jordan in the Speakers Chair than take action. TODAY NOT TOMORROW!
