Sen. Braun calls on president to void $6 billion money transfer to Iran

(provided by his Senate office)
Senator Mike Braun is calling on the president to void a 6 billion dollar transfer of money to Iran.
Braun wants the Biden administration to immediately freeze the 6 billion that was freed up for Iran during their negotiated prisoner swap last month.
The five Americans that had been held were released and are now back in the US.
The White House maintains that the funds are only to be used for humanitarian aid, and only disbursed by Qatar to vendors of food and medical supplies that have been vetted.
The money is currently being held in the Qatari central bank in the capital, Doha.
Braun says Iran knew they had 6 billion coming their way, and that windfall freed up resources to help plan and execute the terrorist attacks from Hamas against Israel.
He added: “The U.S. should freeze these funds immediately and permanently.”

“The White House maintains that the funds are only to be used for humanitarian aid, and only disbursed by Qatar to vendors of food and medical supplies that have been vetted.”

Because Iran can’t possibly use the funds in their existing budget for something else (like terrorism) now that the US money can be used to pay their mundane bills.

This is stupidity of the highest caliber.
