Pilot unharmed after small plane makes crash landing in cornfield

A pilot made a safe crash landing in a cornfield near South Bend International Airport.

Authorities responded to the call around 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15, in the area of Mayflower Road and the U.S. 20/31 bypass.

The pilot, who was the only person on board, was unharmed.

The flight originated in Canada. There was no word on where the pilot was headed.
