Male struck by vehicle on East Jackson Blvd. in Elkhart seriously hurt

Elkhart Police Department are investigating a serious bodily injury crash that occurred
in the 2400 block of E. Jackson Blvd, Elkhart.

It was around 2:20 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, when the Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a call of a crash with injuries on East Jackson, near the intersection with Riverview Avenue.

The initial investigation shows a Ford Escape traveling eastbound struck an adult male on the shoulder of the road.

Medics rendered first aid at the scene, and the injured male was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment and evaluation of what appeared to be serious bodily injuries.

The adult female driver of the Escape remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
