A Dowagiac man was hurt after hitting a downed tree.

It was around 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, when Cass County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene of a collision on Twin Lakes Road near Flanders in Wayne Township.

The investigation shows the 26-year-old man was traveling southbound on Twin Lakes Road when he struck a tree that had fallen in the roadway.

The driver lost control and hit a parked vehicle with four-way flashers on that was trying to mark the downed tree. The impact caused his vehicle to overturn.

The man had to be extricated from his vehicle. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Nobody in the other vehicle was hurt.
