Tuesday, Nov. 21, is Organization Day and the ceremonial start of the legislative session for the Indiana General Assembly, which is the state’s bicameral legislature composed of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
It is an administrative day that allows legislators to meet with their colleagues and staff, arrange committees, swear in new members, and discuss issues for the upcoming session, prior to the official start of the session in January.
No legislation is voted on or debated on Organization Day.
