South Bend Police responded to more than two dozen crashes during Monday’s slippery winter weather.

Since 7 a.m., SBPD has responded to as many as 27 crashes, though not all of those crashes were weather-related. But, to put it into perspective, during the same time span last Monday, Dec. 11, during dry conditions, officers responded to 15 crashes.

One of the collisions they responded to, during the snow, was a vehicle that slid into a South Shore train at Greene/Bendix. There were no injuries.

There are still slick spots across the area, and police recommend drivers to take it slow during the morning commute on Tuesday.
