Elkhart has been given two Low-Income Housing Tax Credit developments.
It’s to help with the shortage of affordable and quality housing.
It will be happening on Sterling Avenue and on East Street in Elkhart.
The Goshen News reports that the Sterling Avenue site is set to have 44 one and three bedroom units with nine for people with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
In the Elkhart Historic District, on East Street, the plan is to have 48 2 and 3 bedroom units.
It will have a mental health focus because of high rates of depression in teens and adults.
